The Secret Place

There are some mornings that simply feel different.

This morning was one of them.

After spending time in prayer, I found myself overwhelmed—not with worry or uncertainty, but with peace.

As I reflected on everything God is doing in my life and in my family's life, I couldn't help but thank Him.

For His faithfulness.

For His guidance.

For opening doors I never could have opened on my own.

For reminding me that every new season begins with Him.

During my prayer time, the Lord gently encouraged my heart. He reminded me of His promises, spoke words of comfort, and reassured me that He is faithfully leading every step.

Moments like these remind me that prayer isn't just something Christians should do.

Prayer is an invitation.

It's where our relationship with God grows deeper.

It's where our hearts are corrected.

It's where our burdens become lighter.

And sometimes...

It's where we simply sit quietly and listen.

One passage that has stayed with me today is Matthew 6:6:

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

There is something beautiful about the secret place.

Not because anyone else sees it...

But because God does.

It's in those quiet moments that He reminds us who we are.

As I continue stepping into this new season of real estate, ministry, writing, and business, I also felt the Lord reminding me how important it is to surround myself with godly counsel.

Not every voice deserves our attention.

Not every opinion deserves our trust.

Godly wisdom matters.

Proverbs 15:22 says:

"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed."

And Proverbs 12:15 reminds us:

"The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice."

Those verses spoke deeply to me this morning.

As we grow, the people we allow to speak into our lives matter.

God often uses faithful mentors, pastors, friends, and wise believers to help guide us toward His will.

That doesn't replace hearing from God ourselves.

It strengthens it.

This week, I'm reminded that prayer, Scripture, wisdom, and godly community are gifts from the Lord.

They keep us anchored when life becomes busy.

They keep us humble when success comes.

They keep us hopeful when the road feels uncertain.

Friend, if life has been noisy lately, can I encourage you?

Find your secret place.

Turn off the distractions.

Open your Bible.

Pray honestly.

Listen patiently.

The God who meets us in private is the same God who faithfully leads us in public.

May we become women who seek His voice above every other voice.

Because there is no greater place to be than in His presence.
