Adornment of the Heart

There’s a kind of beauty that cannot be manufactured.

Not through appearance.
Not through performance.
Not through striving to be seen.

Scripture gently reminds us that God is far more concerned with what is being formed within us than what is displayed outwardly.

In a world constantly teaching women to perfect the outside, God invites us inward.

Toward peace.
Toward quietness.
Toward integrity of heart.

This doesn’t mean beauty is wrong.
It means beauty was never meant to replace depth.

A gentle and quiet spirit is not weakness—it is steadiness. It is the kind of peace that comes from being rooted in Christ instead of rooted in approval.

Sometimes we spend so much energy trying to appear put together that we neglect the condition of our soul.

But God sees beyond presentation.

He looks at the hidden places:
our motives,
our thoughts,
our tenderness,
our surrender.

The beauty God cultivates within us does not fade with time because it was never dependent on appearance to begin with.

Maybe this week is an invitation to slow down and ask:

What am I giving the most attention to—my image or my formation?

Because one eventually fades.

But the heart shaped by Christ becomes radiant in ways the world cannot imitate.
